Quandong trees are prolific on Barngarla country. The quandong is an important bushfood that is consumed fresh when in season. It can also be dried, stored and consumed later. It grows in dry areas and can sustain people and animals during times of drought. It is extremely hardy, thriving in harsh environments. The food is high in vitamin C and provides added fibre to a rich and diverse diet.
