This painting depicts the journey (wararda) of the eldest woman (barlara) of the Seven Sisters. The eldest sister would teach her sisters songs and inmas (dances) for Barngarla Country. The songs and inmas enabled the sisters to successfully navigate Barngarla Country and read the landscape to find water and food. When they completed their journey they lifted up and transformed into the star cluster, Pleiades. The Pleaides constellation is 444 light years from Earth.
